The United States Capitol Historical Society was created in 1962 to promote the history of the Congress, and to help visitors “catch something of the fire that burned in the hearts of those who walked and talked” in the halls of the Capitol. The Society serves as an informational and educational resource for its members and the general public.

The United States Capitol Historical Society is a nonpartisan, educational 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Donations are tax-deductible.

The Society operates on a July 1 to June 30 fiscal year. Audited Financial Statements and IRS Form 990 submissions can be viewed below.
